UPDATE ON PUPPIES....

One of the "Shed Puppies" in need of foster

Despite our begging - still nobody has stepped up to foster any of the 19 puppies that are in dire need of a place to go.

Last Thursday - PAWS volunteers went to check on the puppies that were living under the shed because of the storm. When they arrived - they discovered that the puppies were starting to walk and explore. One had already been hit by a car as a result. Another had been taken by a neighborhood man.

As result - it seemed urgent to relocate the remaining 5-6 week pups to keep them safe.

Fortunately - you can always count on relatives when no one else has your back! "Uncle Joe" kindly offered to take in this litter temporarily until longer term foster homes step up.

The bad news is that these tiny puppies, now although safe from road traffic, are living outside in the heat and the weather. We URGENTLY need some indoor puppy fosters!

There is still another litter of 7 pups (hopefully it is still 7) living in dangerous conditions that is also need.

Look at these cute faces! Don't you want to help them find their way to a new beginning?

MEET THE "SHED PUPPIES"

In addition to foster homes - we also need help with their vet funds. Barring any medical emergencies, the cost of 2-3 rounds of vaccinations, de-worming and spaying/neutering 19 pups will be upwards of $2000. We need your help!

Please consider fostering and/or sponsoring one of these 19 puppies!

A BIG "thank you" to Cissy, Reed and Emma - for helping us catch the puppies.

Uncle Joe - it goes without saying that you are our hero.

Thank you for helping us to help them!

SWEET SUSIE FINALLY GETS HER CHANCE!

Susie is on her way to a new beginning!

Good things come to those who wait - that is certainly true for sweet Susie! This girl has been with us for way too long - waiting for her chance at a forever family.

That chance has finally come! Susie left on transport Friday - heading to New England where she has an adoptive home waiting.

Hopefully she will be able to visit with her daughter - Shannon - now that she is in the same part of the world:)

We cannot wait to receive updates and pictures from Susie's new family.

A big "Thank you" to Terri for rescuing and fostering Susie!

Kudos to our rescue partner for finding a Susie a wonderful home.

PREFER ADULTS DOGS? DO WE HAVE THE BOY FOR YOU!

Say hello to RJ!

RJ is a 5 year old Boxer something mix (Mastiff? Great Dane?).

He is a big boy, weighing in at 80lbs but he is a big goofball and a gentle giant.

RJ was originally adopted from the Marion Animal Shelter when he was 8 months old.

His previous owner lost her home and was going to have to take RJ back to the shelter. Well we couldn't let that happen so we took in RJ.

RJ has been treated for heartworm and he is already neutered.

RJ gets along with other dogs, but would do best in a home with a submissive male or a female canine friend.

He previously lived with cats and kids. He is housebroken and crate trained.

He loves to ride in the car and go for walks.

A GREAT dog all the way around - especially for a family not up for training a puppy!

RJ IS NOT a guard dog and is used to living inside as part of the family.

RJ IS ready to go to rescue or find his forever family!

I am a really goofy boy!

I am also incredibly handsome!

Check out me & the new foster puppy! I am showing him the ropes.

If you are interested in RJ, please contact Leanne at 901-489-2470 or email marionangels@yahoo.com.

UPDATE ON LUKE & LOGAN

As you may remember - Luke and Logan came into rescue unexpectedly a few weeks ago (not that we ever expect the dogs that come to us.)

These two cuties have come a long way in just short period of time. They are coming out of their shells a little more very day and as you can see - are adjusting well to living inside as part of the family!

They are only about 6 months old and easy to fall in love with....

The boys are now neutered and vaccinated. Each ready to find a forever family of their own or a rescue to go to!

They would love to have another canine friend or two in their new homes to play with.

Luke looks like a lion!

Logan the cutie pup!

If you have the love in your heart and room in your home for Luke and/or Logan - email marionangels@yahoo.com or just fill out our adoption application online.

Remember - adopting one dog saves two lives as it makes room for another dog (or puppy) to come into rescue.

PUPPY SEASON IS OFFICIALLY OPEN! HELP IS NEEDED!

Male puppy 1

Puppy season is officially upon us! The phone has started to ring with families asking us to help with litters and litters of puppies. We would love to save them all - but we need your help!

These four cuties are the first of many that we will be trying to help this summer. We have not named this litter yet - but there are four pups, 6 weeks old - two male and two female.

As we are already full to the brim - PAWS volunteers went out on location with the intentions of just giving these four their shots and getting pictures but when we saw where they were living we had to bring them home. They would have not made it if we left them. So here they are:)

Aren't they adorable? Don't you want to take one home?

Male puppy 2

Female puppy 1

Female puppy 2

All kidding aside - on top of these four cuties - we have two more litters waiting in the wings. 15 more puppies total are in urgent need of foster homes. One litter is living under a porch. The other litter is in the same place where these four puppies came from (not a good place to be a pup.)

In addition to foster homes - we also need help with their vet funds. Barring any medical emergencies, the cost of 2-3 rounds of vaccinations, de-worming and spaying/neutering 19 pups will be upwards of $2000. We need your help!

Please consider fostering, adopting and/or sponsoring one of these 19 puppies!

Thank you for helping us to help them!

HE HAS A NAME & A HOME! BEAGLE BOY UPDATE

Linus (aka Beagle Boy) in his new home!

We have our first update on the abandoned Beagle Boy from his new mom, Hollie. Most importantly - Beagle Boy has a name! His name is LINUS. Very fitting!

Here is the first update from Hollie:

I just wanted to say thank you again to you and Leanne for all you did to save my sweet beagle boy!

We have named him Linus (we have a cat named Lucy, so we thought that would be cute!).

He is absolutely adorable and fits perfectly into our beagle family!! All he has done so far is sleep. I think the poor boy has had so much stress in the past few weeks that he will be worn out for a while.

Yesterday, he was a little more active and a motorcycle drove by the house and he jumped off the couch and started howling! It was so funny because he hadn’t made a peep up until then!

He loves attention and as soon as you look at him he starts wagging his tail.

He is completely house trained which is nice. He does have a little limp, but this morning, he took off running through the house, so he can still get around!

I’ve had a hard time getting him to eat, but I think it was just because of a new place and all the changes he’s had. He did much better last night and this morning. I have made him eggs and rice and even tried cat food! I’ve softened his food since his teeth are so bad, I wasn’t sure if they were causing him any pain. He’s done just fine though.

I’m going to schedule a teeth cleaning also as soon as I can since I know that will help out too. I am so glad that you put him on your website and that you all saved him! He is so precious and I am already completely in love with him. He is the sweetest beagle boy ever!

Him and my other beagle boy, Guster, were curled up on the couch yesterday and it would have made the cutest picture ever, but as soon as I got up to get my camera, Guster jumped down.

This morning, I gave him a treat and he went and hid it. Which in my house is not good since I have mostly all beagles and their noses can find anything!! One dog went sniffing around where he hid it and Linus growled at him. Then, he decided to stand guard over his treat! It was so funny! I think one of the other dogs snuck in behind him though and got the treat because when he went back to get it, it was gone! I guess he will learn pretty quickly to eat his treats as soon as he can!

I’ll try to send some pictures tomorrow.

I love my new Linus!!!!

Linus and Guster

The whole pack!

Taking a nap (another one!)

Of course poor Linus tested positive for Heartworm - but he has already started treatment (beacuse he has the best mom ever!) and is doing well. As you can see - he has settled right into his new pack.

Thank you so much Hollie for giving Linus such a GREAT home. It warms our hearts to know that he will never be left behind again.
