HUNKY HANK NEEDS YOU!

HANK arrived to our shelter in July 2008. He is another one of our longterm residents that is now stuck in limbo with no home in sight. After spending months at our shelter, he was moved into boarding when the shelter was full. He has spent the last 3 months living in a small cage with little exercise and attention.

We know that Hank deserves better than this. Do not be fooled by his bad "ear job" - This is such a nice dog! He gets along with other dogs of all shapes and sizes - and even likes cats! He is a nice medium-sized dog with a wonderful disposition.

Hank has gone through Heartworm treatment and longs for an indoor home where he will be treated as a part of the family.

Please free Hank from his life of confinement.

PLEASE HELP PETEY!

Poor Petey! Petey came to our shelter as a stray in April 2008...He was 6-8 months old. Nobody came looking for him and nobody stepped up to foster him when the shelter was full...Thanks to some generous doggie angels, funds were raised to board this boy temporarily until a foster home could be found. That was four months ago!!! Petey has been sitting in a small cage for four months...waiting patiently for someone to save him.

On top of everything else, Petey tested postive for heartworm. Once again, the doggie angels have stepped up financially and provided funds for treatment - but without a quiet, indoor foster home, Petey cannot be treated.

Hasn't Petey been waiting long enough? It is not humane to keep him locked up in a small cage, day after day, with little human interaction and exercise.

We are begging! This is a very sweet boy who needs some love and to experience life outside of a cage. We will pay for his medical needs and provide food, if some Bully lover in the Memphis area will give this boy the chance that he deserves. Anyone familiar with APBTs knows that they are not dogs that should be confined for long periods.

UPDATE ON PRECIOUS SOPHIA!

Here's another update from the North! Sophia is now living in Boston (as you can see from the pictures from the Beach, apple picking, etc. .. she is one spoiled chick!).

"Sophie is doing wonderful, we are having so much fun with her. We are starting puppy class with her this week. She is a fast learner, we think it is going to be a lot of fun. Sophie energy level is great she loves to play but is a good sleeper too. Sometimes we have to wake her up in the morning in her create. She loves to sit of the back of our chair in the living room and watch the squirrels. Sometimes she goes a little crazy and runs from window to window chasing them. We are having a hard time finding a toy that lasts longer than 15mins. She loves to chew and has destroyed many toys. We will give her a new toy and 10 mins later she has a puff of stuffing in her mouth or a big piece of plastic. The good thing is that she has not chewed anything but her toys. She is so funny and constantly makes us laugh. We love her so much and are so happy to have her in our life. Andrea "

UPDATE ON SWEET ALLIE UP NORTH!

This is from Allie's foster (well...soon to be adopter)- can you say spoiled???

" Allie is great & we adore her. She definitely has a lot of puppy in her but is learning. And hey, the kids are getting better about picking up their toys! Only a couple of accidents so far . . . she is really good. The e-fence is the best investment I think I've ever made . . . I'm SO glad we got it. She responds really well to it & is now able to run like a mad woman around the house wrestling and chasing Bruno.

She is growing . . . Seems bigger already. Still fabulous with the kids . . . extremely tolerant. Col holds her by the cheeks and gives her smooches on the "lips" and she loves it. She will let anyone take food right out of her mouth which is awesome, too.

Long story short, we love her; would love to keep her if that is possible. :) Just let me know what the next step will be. Angela"

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP SCRAPPY DO!

Oh doggy angels...where are you? This is Scrappy Do. We promise, he is a diamond in the rough! This boy came in with some type of eye infection (his eyes were completely covered to where he couldn't see- we gently wiped them with a warm washcloth) and a very bad hairdo. Scrappy Do apparently wandered up someone's house before finding his way here. This precious boy is having to live in a crate at the shelter 24/7- can you imagine? PLEASE help him, we are begging (our fosters are full and so is the shelter).

Just look at Scooter's precious face! Scooter has just been groomed (and he knows how adorable he is!). This sweet boy is desperate for some sponsors to help fund his much needed surgery for hip dysplasia. He is still looking for his perfect home as well!

This is Ollie! This sweetie is under a year old and was found wandering around in a nearby golf course. He is a friendly little guy who just wants a home (and some attention). Please foster Ollie for a little while- the shelter is very full!
