POOR TABITHA IS BACK!

Well the good news is Tabitha is available for adoption! Tabitha came to the shelter as a tiny pup around 7-8 weeks back in July (along with her siblings: Teddy, Jules, etc.). She was adopted right away, but sadly, they cannot keep her. She is a wonderful little pup who just wants to play. Poor thing is so sad to be back at the shelter. Please consider fostering Tabitha for even a few weeks (we don't think it will be long before she finds a great home!).

YEAH HERSHEY #2 FINDS A FOSTER HOME!

Thanks to our long standing "Super Foster Mom", Teresa, Hershey #2 no longer has to live outside at the shelter. Teresa came through once again! In fact, she thinks she might have a potential adopter for him too! This is what Teresa had to say about his first day with her (FYI- Hershey is very timid at the moment and hasn't quite experienced the love and comfort of a true family):

I just wanted to let you know that Hershey is doing great. Last night he whined for about 10-15 minutes when I put him in his crate, but after that he crashed………he was a tired baby! This morning we went straight out and he did his business. He was a bit reluctant coming back in, but I was able to coax him in with a treat. The second time out, no problems at all. I let him out while I did some of my homework, and went all through the house investigating; he even went into the den to meet my other mutts. The sofa is definitely his “safe place”. No problems with eating, he ate 2 cups in record time."

It won't take this gorgeous boy long to find his groove (Thanks again Teresa!). We'll let you know if the "potential adopter" works out!

A BIG THANKS TO ANETTA AND DEBBIE

We wanted to thank 2 Doggy Angels from Memphis. Both Anetta and Debbie answered our pleas for help during this critical time of freezing temperatures. As you may know, we had 12 or so dogs living outside that had to be out of the shelter by Thursday. Thankfully, our few volunteers pooled together and managed to get all of them out temporarily except a few.

Thanks to these two women (who incidentally do not know each other), the few left outside were as comfortable as possible. Anetta bought numerous dog beds/blankets (which of course we packed in the dog houses) and Debbie brought a dog house (in much better condition than some of the ones at the shelter by the way).

We still urgently need foster homes because we have several dogs in boarding that cannot stay there. In addition, dogs come in daily (2 more were dropped off in te last 2 days). PLEASE HELP if you can- we are begging. Call Allison at 901-240-9848 or email us at marionangels@yahoo.com

HUGE GROUP IS SAVED!!!

ANGELS ARE AMONG US! We are so excited about this week's transport. Thanks to Janet and her network of Doggy Angels in the New England area, one of our biggest groups left on Thursday for their foster homes and forever homes up North! The lucky ones included Velvet, Midnight, Nelson, Maxie, Jane, Jill, Phantom (aka Emma), Trouble, and Florence. We will keep you updated as to their progress as we receive news.

For those in this area, we couldn't do this without our local foster homes, so please call us if you can help. We need temporary foster homes immediately (especially for puppies. Please call Joan at 870-739-1145 (alternate number 870-739-5412) or Allison at 901-240-9848. We will provide whatever we can (food, etc.).

Don's sister, Terri, is fostering our sweeties, Kora and Dora. Anyway, cross your fingers because he may be interested in adopting Petey if it all works out! We will update everyone as soon as we hear! Petey has an enormous vet bill as you can imagine, so if anyone is feeling generous, please donate in his name. We couldn't be happier right now for this sweet boy!

BLOG CHANGES IN PROCESS

Please bear with us as we change the colors on the Blog (we just weren't crazy about the last ones). Keep in mind there aren't many choices on the templates. If anyone would like to volunteer their time to make us a new template, we'd be elated (LOL). Let us know what you think- we'd love to hear some feedback.

UPDATE FROM TUFF (NOW YOUKLIS)

We just received an update from Tuff's new owners! We are so happy for him! There's nothing wrong with a little exercise (LOL)!

"He's doing great!! I've been meaning to email you pics but I have been really busy with school lately. We have changed his name to Youklis, our favorite Red Sox player. He is adjusting to life here really well. He has already put on 10 pounds and his bald spots are clearing up. We work on his voice commands everyday and then he naps while I do homework. I think he really enjoys playing in the yard with David the best. I gave him my old yoga/exercise ball, which he loves. Last night we had all the little cousins over and he enjoyed rolling around on the floor with the oldest boy. Attached are some pics from last week. I think he is showing off his shiny coat."
