ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING...TOMMY

Tommy (now Buster) was one of 3 absolutely precious Border Collie puppies that came to the shelter with their parents, Autumn and AJ. Sadly, AJ passed away due to complications from heartworm treatment. Autumn was adopted by a wonderful couple in Missouri. Anyway, Tommy turned out just gorgeous (alot like his mom). He is living the life. The latest update indicatd that his owners love him dearly and that he rides on the tractor and goes all over the barnyard with the animals.

ANOTHER CREW LEFT TODAY FOR THE NORTHEAST!
We are excited about today's transport! Rhett, Mickey, Lady, Tramp, Aaron, Allie, Buster, Bella, Diamond, and Cricket all left for their homes up north. They truly are the lucky ones (some were with us for a very long time). If we can find some more foster homes, we would be able to help even more pups in need. Please let us know if you can help (dogs need to be out of the shelter for at least 2 weeks in order to make the trip up north)! Thanks to Janet and Peterson Express Transport Services (PETS) for making this happen!

UPDATED PICTURES OF JOHNNY!
YEAH! Johnny has found a temporary foster home! This boy is absolutely precious. He is enjoying romping and playing with his foster buddies, Howard and Trixie! Johnny just needs some basic training...he clearly wants to please. He's just a 53 pound goofball. If you would like to meet him or have any questions, you can call Allison at 901-240-9848. Remember to click on each picture for an enlarged view.

UPDATE FROM ANOTHER NORTHERN PUP: CHARLIE
"Hi Janet! Hope your holidays were enjoyable. Charlie/Yawl is still doing great. Totally house trained and knows all of his commands except stay, which is really a hard one.
Attached is a pict of him. Happy New Year. Lorna"

REMEMBER BOB? LOOK AT HIM NOW!
Take a look at Bob not long after being surrendered to the shelter (first 2 pictures) and look at him now. He is an absolute hunk! Bob is incredibly happy living in the New England area (they are excited that he was such a good fit for their family).
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! What a year it has been! We are so thankful to all of PAWS volunteers, foster families, and sponsors for allowing us to continue saving so many precious lives from the Marion Animal Shelter. Thanks to you they have a voice! We would love to hear updates from our previous adopters and/or fosters for the Blog, so please email us! If anyone is interested in saving a pup by fostering one, please let us know. We meet twice a month (typically on Monday nights) if anyone would like to join our group (we'd LOVE to have you!)
UPDATED PICTURES OF GORGEOUS GUS!
Gus is the sweetest and most adorable boy (an 80 pound gentle giant). We hope that he will be able to start heartworm treatment soon. He will be worth the wait- just look at this big boy!
