3 LITTLE GIRLS LOOKING FOR A SHORT-TERM FOSTER: EMILY, EMMA, AND ELLA!

We need more help again already... Emily, Emma, and Ella are an absolutely adorable litter of well... who knows what. Ella looks like a Corgi mix with those adorable ears and Emma and Emily are just down right precious too. These 3 are estimated to be about 12 weeks old. They just need somewhere to crash for a few weeks. Please call Joan at 870-739-1145 or Allison at 901-240-9848 right away!

EMERGENCY FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR ZOE & PUPS!

We have an immediate need for a foster home for Zoe (mama Schipperke) and her 4 puppies. Zoe's puppies are only about 2 weeks old and have just opened their eyes! The Schipperke Rescue is frantically searching for a foster home for them, but in the meantime they will be homeless tomorrow (their current foster home could only keep them 2 weeks and that ends this Monday). We thought we had one lined up, but it fell through.

We do not think it will be more than 2-3 weeks, so PLEASE someone please help them. Mom is only about 15 pounds so she won't take up much space (she will come with food and we can even loan you a crate if you can help). Call Allison at 901-240-9848 or Joan at 870-739-1145 right away!

ONE TRIP JUST WASN'T ENOUGH...WISCONSIN ANGELS GO SOUTH AGAIN!

Our "Sister Rescue" in Wisconsin came through AGAIN (thank you Emily and Nicole)! After hearing about our desperate situation here in Arkansas, volunteers Beth and Linda decided to take a trip to Arkansas again to see how many PAWS pups they could take back with them to the Rescue Group (oh if they only had a minivan!). They of course came bearing gifts of dog food, much needed supplies, and even a donation from Beth's sister and mother (in lieu of birthday gifts...Happy Early Birthday Beth!). At least some of us were able to squeeze in dinner at our favorite Memphis restaurant, Westy's (it has become a tradition when they visit!).

Well all in all, these ladies helped save 15 puppies/dogs! The lucky ones included Koda (a beautiful tan Husky Mix), the 5 "M Puppies" (Mallory, Marissa, Mark, Mason, and Madden), Jax (the gorgeous Border Collie mix that was tied to a post at the vet clinic), Patches (daddy Shih Tzu), Muffin (mama Shih Tzu), and 6 of the cutest Shih Tzu puppies you have ever seen!

None of this would have been possible without our foster families and donations, so please consider helping. We have even more puppies waiting to be saved, but they have to find a home temporarily while they wait for their turn (the ladies are already talking about coming back in a few weeks!). If you would like to help, please call Allison at 901-240-9848.

ANOTHER "RESCUE" FROM OUR FRIENDS IN WISCONSIN!

We are so excited that 5 more PAWS dogs/puppies made their way north this week to find forever homes. Thanks to Theresa, Big Bear, Sweetie Bear, Woolly Bear, Betsy, and Brody (Betsy's baby) all found their way to saftey. Theresa contacted us about adopting Sweetie Bear. She was so kind to allow the others to catch a ride with her to go to one of our "Sister Rescues" (this one in Wisconsin)!

Even more exciting news came today...Woolly Bear's potential adopter has decided to adopt Big Bear too! Thanks again Theresa, Emily, Nicole, and the rest of the gang for helping us!

SWEET SUNNY HAS FOUND HER ANGELS!

What a lucky gal! As you can see from the before picture, Sunny has made quite the transformation in just a few weeks. She is the most adorable little 6 pound bundle you could ever meet (she gained 2 pounds in just a couple of weeks). Despite how she looked initially, Sunny caught the eye of a couple in New York, Barbara and Richie.

Barbara just "had to have her" and flew to Arkansas as soon as she was safe to travel. Renamed Molly (which is the perfect name for this cutie), this little girl doesn't yet know how lucky she is. Molly will get to spend her days with her "people" at home (they have all the time in the world for her) or on their boat (yes...Molly will be quite the sailor before long!). Thank you Barbara and Richie for believing in our sweet Sunny :) Her foster family in Arkansas will certainly rest easy knowing she is in the best possible place for her!

UPDATE ON JADEA!

Great news for Jadea - the sweet Coonhound mix with the crushed pelvis and broken femur. After spending months and months sitting in a small cage at the vet clinic - Jadea has finally found a foster home! A BIG thank you to Susan Lilly for taking Jadea in!

Look at these new happy dog pictures of Jadea! What a difference a little love and home living can make. Her foster mom says that Jadea's tail never stops wagging.

See what Jadea looked like before

More good news - we received large donations from doggie angels Nancy and Diana that covered most of Jadea's outstanding vet bill. She still has a fairly large boarding bill $700+) - but hopefully we will be able to whittle that down eventually.

On top of everything else, Jadea is of course, Heartworm positive - so our next mission for her is to raise the funds for her treatment ($375).

Jadea has come through so much - and maintained her joy for life throughout it all. Please consider contributing to her Heartworm treatment.

If you have been touched by Jadea's story - please consider
fostering, adopting or sponsoring (paypal email: marionangels@yahoo.com) one of our long term residents. Without your help - dogs like Jadea do not have a chance at finding love.

PLEASE HELP MITCH WIN: TAKE A MOMENT TO VOTE FOR ONE OF OUR PAST PUPS!

Precious Mitch was adopted from PAWS/Marion Animal Shelter in June 2008. He was lucky to have found a wonderful foster family in Memphis (thanks again Julie and Glenn!). Mitch is 1 of 3 finalists who have been chosen to run for "King" of Missouri's Canine Carnival (a Missouri APA contest). What an honor it would be to go from a kill shelter to King of a Canine Carnival!

Mitch needs you to vote so that we can prove to people what wonderful pets "shelter pets" make (especially PAWS pets!). Please take a moment to vote (if you have more than one email address you can vote once per email!).

Hurry the contest ends September 16th! The winner will be crowned on October 4th and may even be on TV in St. Louis! We are so proud of Mitch and want to thank Nikki and his new family for believing in him! Click the link below to vote:
