MANDY - THIS WEEK'S LUCKY PUP!
Another transport day has come and gone - this week we had one very lucky pup heading off to a new life!
Mandy is a gorgeous German Shorthair Pointer who landed at our local shelter. Of course, being an adult dog in our area, she turned up heartworm positive. As a heartworm positive hound dog in a Southern municipal shelter - she had little chance of making it out alive.
Fortunately, one of our volunteers saw her - and rescued her from the shelter just in the nick of time. When Mandy arrived to her foster home - she was very fearful and showed signs of previously being abused. With the love and care that her foster mom gave - she began to trust again and is now a wonderful, loving pup.
Two months later - Mandy has completed heartworm treatment - and on Thursday - headed off to her new life!
Thank you to Leanne for battling the traffic jams and crime scene to get Mandy to her ride to freedom.
