NEW ARRIVAL - CHARLIE!

Charlie is one of those dogs that makes you wonder about the "humanity" of the human race.  Charlie was left behind when his owners moved... Would you move and leave your child behind? Of course not.  How can it be acceptable to leave your four-legged family member?

Thank goodness Charlie is safe and in foster care now.  As you can tell from these pictures he is a stunning boy  - most likely a Pit Bull/Chocolate Lab mix.
Charlie is a sweetheart who LOVES to play with the other dogs in his foster home.  Charlie is around two years old,  up-to-date on his shots, neutered and heartworm negative. He is house trained and crate trained.

He is a sweet dog who deserves a family that will not leave him behind.  Please give him a chance.

NEW PICTURES OF LILLY GIRL!

Here are some new pictures of Lilly!

In January - Lilly was found wandering by one of our foster parents - who of course - took her home to an already full house of doggies.

We think Lilly is a Foxhound. Foxhound mix. She is about 1.5 years old - or maybe a little younger.

Lilly is a sweet girl who is living peacefully with many other dogs. She was shy at first but has come out of her shell since being in foster care.

Lilly would greatly appreciate a forever home where she could receive more one-on-one attention!

Lilly is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Please give her a loving home!

PLEASE HELP MISS MAGGIE!

Maggie came to PAWS almost a year ago.  We found her running down the side of the road in the sweltering heat while out rescuing other dogs...We stopped - and she jumped right in the car...thankful for the help.

For the past year -- Maggie has been in a foster home with many other dogs and a foster mom that works many many hours.  Maggie is not getting the exercise or attention she needs - but she IS getting a lot of food...and is now in need of weight watchers!

Maggie would greatly benefit from a new foster home.  One of the dogs in Maggie's foster home picks on her - and it is starting to take a toll.

This sweet girl is only two years old - and would love a foster home that has time and energy to exercise her and to give her some loving!

Maggie is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for Heartworm.

Maggie would thrive in a home where either she is the only dog or one with a large submissive dog.

Please this girl the chance she deserves.  She is so affectionate and will make someone a wonderful companion.

UPDATE ON BUDDY!

Over a year ago - Buddy was rescued by one of our foster parent's when he was found wandering in front of someone's car. He was just the sweetest boy - it is amazing that nobody ever came looking for him. Perhaps he is a former hunting dog that was not good at his job, as he loves all four-legged and two-legged animals.

Buddy was with us for quite sometime as he tested positive for Heartworm disease and had to undergo treatment before he could be considered for adoption. Being a large, adult boy - he had no interest in him locally.

Thankfully - our rescue partner in New England offered to help Buddy find his forever home!

Here is the latest update from his adoptive family:

Buddy is doing fantastic and we just love him!! He has settled in very well.

When he first came here he was slow to play with toys, didn't play fetch, and didn't really play with other dogs.

He has really come out of his shell now. We go to the baseball field almost every evening to play fetch and he just loves to run free. He met a couple of boxer friends down there and is very comfortably playing with them.

It's very cool to watch him really enjoy himself - we set up play dates with the boxers and they just love it.

We also hide his kong and squeaky toys around the house and he likes to find them.

He still hates the car, and he barks insanely when he sees other dogs on the bike path. It's just an alert bark, but some dog owners get a little nervous so we are working on that.

We're just finishing up the first training class with him and he is the star of the class - you just know that he's the teacher's favorite!! He pretends to go up to her for a pat and sneaks his head around her waist to steal treats from her pouch - he's funny.

We can't wait for hiking season to start.

Thanks again for saving him - he's a prize.

I've attached a picture of a tired Buddy after a long play date in the ballpark last week!! We'll keep you posted.

Thanks again Barbara & Steve

We love receiving these happy endings for dogs that were discarded or abandoned!  Thank you Barbara and Steve for giving Buddy the life he deserves!
