ANOTHER HAPPY PUPPY UPDATE

Another happy ending! This update and picture is of Cammie (now Frankie) another one of Chloe's puppies that was placed in a loving home.

Thank you so much for sending me these pictures of Chloe and Mandy. I am so glad that Frankie's mother is alive and doing well. When will they be coming to Maine? Frankie is doing great. She has brought us so much joy. I can't thank you enough for rescuing her. Jena

Sadly - Chloe and her sister, Mandy - are STILL waiting for their chance at families to call their own.

Chloe and Mandy are lovely dogs - sweet, healthy, playful, get along with others.

These two girls were such wonderful mommas to their puppies despite being abandoned and neglected.

Don't leave the mommas behind - Please help us to help them find their happy ending.

RYAN'S STORY

Ryan is one of those dogs...
a) that makes really question humanity and
b) affirms the superiority of animals in their ability to forgive, forget and love.

We are thankful that Ryan somehow found his way to us and that the doggie angels were looking out for him. Please take a moment to read his story.

Meet Ryan! He is a gorgeous 7 month pup (Golden/Chessie mix we believe) that has had a rough start to life.

A man had his belt around Ryan's neck and he was seen dragging him down the street with a cement block tied to his front legs. If that is not horrifying enough - the man's wife was kicking Ryan as her husband dragged him down the street.

Thankfully - this incident was witnessed by a doggie angel who stepped in. She asked if she could have him and the couple released Ryan to her. Thanks to her - Ryan is now in a safe and loving place.

Ryan is a super dog! He gets along great with other dogs and cats. Even with his negative treatment by humans early in his life, Ryan LOVES people.

He knows how to sit and will come and sit in front of you to be petted. He is crate trained and housebroken. He has already been neutered and is heartworm negative.

His foster mom says he is a great dog. He currently has a cut under his eye that is healing as his foster has been lovingly doctoring it. Ryan right now weighs 50lbs but he is gaining some much needed weight.

Ryan's story exemplifies both the resilience of dogs and the difference that one person can make to a dog in need.

You too can make a difference!

THE HAPPY HOLIDAY UPDATES KEEP ON COMING!

The happy holiday pictures of PAWS alumni continue to arrive in our inbox!

Pictured above is another black pup saved - Daisy (now Micki) - sharing Christmas with her adoptive family. Being a young pup it looks like her human "sisters" had to help her sit pretty for the camera:)

Micki had her first Christmas and she loved it as well as the new snow! She runs outside and stuffs her face in it until she sneezes!! Here is a pic of her with the girls for our Christmas cards; she wasn’t too happy about having to sit in one place while I took about 10 pictures but she did great! Hope all is well! - Jennifer

Vince - one of the "V" pups adopted in April 2010

Thought you might like to see this picture of "Vince" who is now named him Simon. He is doing really well!

If you have adopted one of our pups and have a happy tail to share - we would love to hear from you!

PUPS ENJOYING A WINTER WONDERLAND!

Many of our pups never experience the snow and we never know how they are going to react to the cold white stuff - but these pictures taken earlier in the week show Mandy, Chloe and Oxford loving the winter wonderland!

Chloe, Mandy and Oxford are officially winterized and ready to find homes in New England!

HOLIDAY UPDATE FROM ALYSSA'S FAMILY

Below is another wonderful holiday update on Alyssa (now Bree.) Alyssa was one of our long-term residents - essentially growing up in our care - making the below update and pictures that much more rewarding!

Sadly, Alyssa turned heartworm positive once in her adoptive home - which sometimes happens despite monthly heartworm prevention. This is just another reason why regular heartworm testing is so critical. Thankfully Alyssa has a family that loves her enough to give her the vet care that she needs to be a healthy girl.

Bree is recovering nicely from her heartworm treatment at the beginning of the month.

She has been a really good girl and Santa brought her a new collar (her fovorite color - purple), a fuzzy blanket (which she loves to snuggle on), and some new squeeky toys (boy doesn't she love to squeak them!!).

She goes back to the vet on Thursday for her follow-up visit and we are very hopeful that she will get a clean bill of health - so she can go running through the snow as she loves to do!
Of course throughout her recovery she has NOT been spoiled at all -- not too much!!

She is the very much the princess of the house.

We love to see our dogs spoiled!

UPDATES ON MANDY & CHLOE'S PUPS!

Over the holidays - we are always thrilled to receive updates on many of our adoptive pups.

This holiday season we heard from the adoptive families of two pups delivered by Chloe & Mandy (see updates and cutie pictures below!) Sadly - although their puppies all found great homes -- devoted mommas, Chloe & Mandy remain here with us in Limbo - hoping and dreaming of forever families of their own in the New Year.

Just wanted to pass on some recent pictures of Chloe's baby Carter, now known as Rocky Finnegan O'Connor the Wonder Dog!! Enjoy and Happy Holidays to everyone!!!

Chloe's pup - Rocky, formerly Carter

Rocky looks just like his mom!

We adopted Mandy's son Satchel (formerly Mickey) and I can see the resemblance. Satchel is the perfect dog.

I know everyone says that about their dogs, but EVERYONE says that about Satchel! He is a total cuddle-bum, which I guess he got from his mom.

The minute anyone sits on the sofa he's right there beside them. He is such a sweet-tempered dog, with excellent manners. I wish I could take the credit for that, but he came to us that way, so I think the credit goes to Mandy.

October 2010 with the two grandsons - look at that vicious dog!

One of Satchel's favorite thing to do - dig. Especially when he finds a chipmunk hole.

Satchel at about six months with new brothers, Harley and Rose.

Boy do these pups resemble their moms or what? We are so happy that these boys found wonderful homes!

Kudos to Chloe and Mandy for raising such awesome puppies despite the odds stacked against them. Hopefully we can reward them soon by giving them their own families to cherish.
