DON'T FORGET SWEET SUSIE

Sweet Susie is a wonderful, petite girl who has been in our rescue since LAST SEPTEMBER. She is a doll and ready to find her forever home!

Susie was originally a stray being fed by a good Samaritan. The landlord of the building Susie was frequenting threatened to shoot her one day - so she came to us and brought along her puppy (who has since gone to rescue.)

Susie is currently sharing foster home with multiple other dogs, large and small, male and female. She gets along well with all.

She is living inside the home as part of her foster family.

As you can see in this picture - she likes to relax on the couch:) but she is also crate trained.

Susie is a little shy at first meeting - but warms up when she knows she has found a friend - then you have a friend for life!

Susie has been introduced to cats and to children - and got along well with both.

She is a great size - weighing about 40 lbs.

Susie is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines - and has successfully been treated for Heartworm (thanks to some generous doggie angels).

Please consider giving this sweet momma the forever home she deserves! She has been waiting long enough.

MEET MOLLY!

Meet our newest PAWS pup - Molly!

Molly is a gorgeous one year old English Pointer - Possibly mixed with Brittany Spaniel? Whatever her heritage - she sure is sweet!

Molly needs a good loving home where she can run and play and get the attention that she needs.

She is affectionate, entertaining and very intelligent!

Molly is currently sharing her home peacefully with three kitties. They are fun playmates - but she might really enjoy a home with another young dog friend or two to romp with!

Molly is house trained and crate trained.

She loves to talk to you and play until she can play no more.

Molly is a great retriever and she loves to swim!

Her current owners love her silly, but just do not have the required time that needs to be spent with her.

If you are interested in giving Molly a wonderful indoor home - please complete our online adoption application.

FLOWER POWER!

Spring is in the air - that means it is time for our Flower Power fundraiser!

PAWS receives no county, state, or federal funding to assist with our vet bills. We are dependent on those kind souls who share our mission and believe in what we do.

We believe that every pet that enters our doors deserves love and care, regardless of their physical condition. We work hard to get them on their way to becoming healthy, happy, and headed for their forever homes. Please help us to help them.

For every purchase made on this site - Flower Power Fundraising will give 50% back to our rescue dogs.

Click here to see how you can help today!

Happy spring - woof!

UPDATE ON CHLOE:)

Chloe relaxing in Maine

As mentioned in the previous blog entry -- Chloe (of Chloe and Mandy) headed North last weekend to rescue after spending over a year in rescue.

Some of you may remember - when Chloe and Mandy first arrived in our rescue - they were both pregnant - and gave birth to litters of pups who also went to our rescue partner many moons ago.

We just discovered that Chloe is being fostered by the family that adopted one of her puppies, Frankie! So Mom and at least one pup, have been reunited! How cool is that? Wouldn't it be a great ending if Chloe ended up being adopted by her foster family?

Please take a minute to enjoy the below pictures and updates from Chloe's foster mom:

You were right about Chloe being a cuddle bug. All she wants to do is sit in your lap and be touched. When you stop touching her she just looks up at you with those big brown eyes as if to say "Please don't stop." She is AMAZING on leash. Walks right next to you and doesn't even pull. I hope she can teach Frankie a thing or two about that.

Today was a HUGE day for Frankie and Chloe! They played together on the beach and in their pen! It was so nice to see Chloe come out of her shell and want to play. In fact Frankie couldn't believe it at first. We were starting to think she was just a lazy dog. She loved running on the beach with us.

Chloe is a perfect example of how wonderful a dog can be.

She ALWAYS has to be touching you, in your lap, jumping on you etc. (as we speak she keeps trying to get into my lap as I type this e-mail!) She would need to be in a family who does have a lot of time for her. She hates it when you are not paying attention to her. At first it was kind of annoying because she was ALWAYS in our face or trying to get into our laps and so on. We have gotten use to that now and just find it cute.

The way life should be!

Chloe and her pup, Frankie - reunited!

It is wonderful to receive happy endings for our pups - especially the adult dogs and long-term residents. We are so happy for Chloe! We hope to be writing a similar blog entry for Chloe's sister, Mandy, one day soon!

BIG WEEKEND FOR MANY LUCKY PUPS!

The "C" Puppies getting ready to go North!

We are excited to share that last weekend we had 22 pups head off to rescue!

It was a combined effort between PAWS volunteers and our rescue partner in New England. Volunteers from both direction loaded up vans with crates and drove all weekend to a half-way meeting point in the name of the dogs!

On board to a new life were two litters of puppies - the "C" puppies (litter of 9), the "R' puppies(litter of 7), Bailey, Fletcher, Jelly, Macie, Boliver and Chloe!

We are particularly excited about Chloe (of Chloe & Mandy) as she has been with us for a long long time. We are only sad that her sister, Mandy, was not able to travel with her. Hopefully Mandy's turn will come soon too!

Of course no major road trip occurs without a few hitches...Shortly after starting to drive back to AR - PAWS volunteers, Lisa and Leanne, suffered a flat tire... Fortunately for them they were rescued by multiple dog-loving angels and back on the road quickly.

A HUGE "thank you" to James, the trucker from Jackson, TN who changed the tire at the rest stop and also to the two good Samaritans at Smith's Auto in Marion, VA who patched our tire free of charge in the name of the rescue dogs!

All loaded up!

Fletcher cutie taking a break

Chloe & Jelly stretching their legs and getting some love

Saying good-bye to Chloe - Happy trails girlfriend!

Stay-tuned for updates our pups!
