Below is another wonderful holiday update on Alyssa (now Bree.) Alyssa was one of our long-term residents - essentially growing up in our care - making the below update and pictures that much more rewarding!
Sadly, Alyssa turned heartworm positive once in her adoptive home - which sometimes happens despite monthly heartworm prevention. This is just another reason why regular heartworm testing is so critical. Thankfully Alyssa has a family that loves her enough to give her the vet care that she needs to be a healthy girl.
Bree is recovering nicely from her heartworm treatment at the beginning of the month.
She has been a really good girl and Santa brought her a new collar (her fovorite color - purple), a fuzzy blanket (which she loves to snuggle on), and some new squeeky toys (boy doesn't she love to squeak them!!).
She goes back to the vet on Thursday for her follow-up visit and we are very hopeful that she will get a clean bill of health - so she can go running through the snow as she loves to do! Of course throughout her recovery she has NOT been spoiled at all -- not too much!!
She is the very much the princess of the house.
We love to see our dogs spoiled!
