REED: ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING:)

We love our happy endings! Here is an update from Reed's adoptive family. Sounds like Reed has hit the jackpot and is loving his new life.

Our one year anniversary with Buddy (formerly Reed) is coming up and I thought I'd let you know how successful our adoption has been. Buddy has gained about 10 lbs and is taller and stronger than he was.... we have decided that he was younger than advertised when we got him, given the growth and development that has occurred.

His desperate need to escape out the door is no longer present at all (!)and he will stay on the property when we let him outside with us off leash. He has taken to our training very well, although as you know, those first few months were difficult. We credit consistency in his daily life, but more than anything, our love for him coupled with his desire to belong and please. He really is the sweetest and most sensitive pet I have had, and of course each of my pets have been special to me in their own way.

We take him to the dog park everyday, yes, even in winter! And we walk him on the beach. He has lots of friends and admirers who love him too. Our 17+year old, Lily, is still hanging on and they love each other very much. She has been a wonderful dog and I think has influenced him; he has given her a new lease on life and we actually believe he has given her reason to live these last months.

I have included some photos. The first one is the one that was posted on petfinders and the second one was taken about a month ago in our yard. You are welcome to use them if needed.

It is a very happy story and thank you again. Jane
