SENIOR PUP & KITTY PUT OUT WITH THE TRASH - PLEASE HELP!

Senior Beagle thrown out with the trash

No matter how long we work in rescue - rescuers never get used to the way people treat their animals. Dogs and cats are meant to be a part of your family - so when you move - they are supposed to move with you.

Often this is not what happens - and it certainly is not what happened in the case of these two best friends.

We don't know their names - but we do know where they "live" - and we are praying that someone out there reads this post and steps to help either by fostering, adopting or taking these four-legged friends into rescue.

Two weeks ago - the humans that cared for this senior dog and cat moved out of their trailer. They put all of their unwanted belongings outside the home with a big sign that said "Please take for free!"

Amongst their trash and furniture - they left their dog and cat.

The two have been holding vigil outside of the trailer ever since - crying and waiting for their family to return.

Both dog and cat have obviously lived inside up until now - as they keep going to the door to try to get back inside their home.

A kind neighbor has been feeding them (quite well it appears) and giving them some love - but there is no place for these beloved and loyal pets to go. They live in the county - which is not covered by the local shelter. They urgently need a foster, forever home or rescue to take them in.

This is what the neighbor wrote in about this dynamic duo:

Older dog and cat that were put out with the furniture. It makes me cry every time I go over there. I badly need someone to take this dog inside and love him...and possibly the cat he obviously loves and guards.

The dog is appx 25 or 30 lbs. He looks to be a Beagle..long ears very short legs. He has patches of red and spots of red freckles, gray muzzle and very long nails as if he has been kept inside and no one has been there to cut them for awhile. He is SUPER depressed. He waits at the door. This is not an ideal place for an older, depressed, obviously indoor pet! I CAN'T stand leave them there much longer. I say "they" because there is a cat too but i know this is a "dog" page. I cry every day over this. It breaks my heart and I don't know what to do!
