On my way to a loving home!
Last week we put out an urgent plea for help for a senior Beagle and his kitty companion. These two had been left out with the trash when their family moved away - but refused to leave their home - waiting day after day for their family to return.
When nobody responded to help these two throw away pets - we struggled with what to do to save them as Tornado warnings were in the air...Our few foster homes were/are overflowing - and the shelter was not an option as these pets lives in "the County" - out of the shelter's jurisdiction.
Thank goodness one person, 6 hours away, heard our plea. One person was all we needed:) Thank goodness for the power of one.
The hero in this story, Hollie, lives in Kentucky. She originally applied to foster for PAWS over a year ago before she realized her geographical distance from us. Instead of fostering - Hollie supported our pups through cross-posting efforts and fundraising. She was key in helping Mandy & Chloe reach their goal for Heartworm treatment.
Hollie has kept in touch over time. We know she has a passion for Beagles - she has fostered several for her local shelter including a litter of pups (brave woman!)
Hollie said it all in her email to us:
I know that I cannot save all the dogs, but I can save this one!!

With the promise of a safe place for Beagle Boy to go - PAWS volunteer, Leanne, drove to the County and picked him up. She took him home, gave him a much-needed bath - and a bed to take a nap on.

A kind neighbor took in his buddy, Miss Kitty, under the agreement that PAWS would pay for the spay and vaccines.
On Saturday - Leanne and Hollie each drove half way to an agreed upon meeting spot where Beagle Boy was transferred to his new mom!
Thank you so much Hollie for saving this boy! Please let us know how he is doing - and equally important - what his new name will be!
As always - kudos to PAWS volunteer, Leanne for doing all of the leg work to get this pup safe from the storms and into a loving home.
