We rescued these two sweet girls from our local shelter over two years ago when their time was up.

Autumn came in with her mate, AJ. Sadly both were Heartworm positive and needed treatment. We tried and tried to find foster for Autumn and AJ so that they could receive the treatment they needed - but nobody stepped up.

Finally, a local rescue group reached out to help. This wonderful rescue found foster not only for Autumn and AJ, but also for Callie!

Autumn and AJ were finally put through Heartworm treatment. Unfortunately - by the time AJ received his treatment - the disease was too advanced and he did not survive. This is why it is so important for people to step up and foster these dogs in need of Heartworm treament - the longer they wait - the harder the treatment is on the dogs. We pay for the treatment - all you do is offer love and a soft bed!

The happy ending to this entry is that Autumn and Callie were adopted by the same wonderful family. We just received the following update on these two girls:
