Daisy Mae is a sweet girl that we rescued when her time was up at the local shelter. She came to the shelter with her two puppies - Trey and Bear. She was such a good momma to them both!
Many people were interested in helping her pups - but nobody wanted to save Daisy Mae as she is an adult dog and also Heartworm positive - a much bigger challenge than rescuing puppies.
As a rescue - we feel it is critical that if you are going to rescue puppies - you must take the whole litter and NEVER leave a mother behind - especially when leaving her behind would mean certain death.
So of course we rescued the whole family! We are glad that we did as Daisy Mae is certainly worth the effort.
Daisy Mae is in a wonderful foster home - and she even has a rescue to take her once she is through her heartworm treatment! But we need your help to pay for her treatment - which will cost $300.
